Courtney does promo rounds

To promote the release of "Man on the Moon," Courtney went on some of the New York-based talk shows to chat. She went on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday, December 13th, giving Letterman a picture drawn by Frances and speaking about going to the hospital after getting "hippie oil" in her ear and having all the doctors mistake her for Courteney Cox. She also joked about having to take painkillers after so many years and not being able to overdose.

Then on Friday, December 17th, Courtney was a guest on the Rosie O'Donnell Show and spoke with Rosie for more than twenty minutes (it was evident they had to edit out some stuff). This was Courtney's first meeting with Rosie and it started out awkward as Rosie suggested that Courtney wasn't known for her niceness. Courtney also talked about finding out she is part Jewish and about being born to hippy parents. Courtney went on to describe how she tried out for the Mouseketeers but didn't make the final cut and went to get a guitar. Rosie and Courtney also talked about crafts and buying stuff on eBay.

Courtney also made an appearance with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America on Tuesday, December 21st and on Canada AM on Thursday, December 23rd.

"Man on the Moon" opened on Wednesday, December 22nd, making 2.9 million its first day of release.

The premiere of the video for Be A Man aired on MTV on Christmas Eve so hopefully we'll see it here north of the border soon on Muchmusic.
